The device's main outcome was to create complex rhythms in an efficient manner, and this has been the key focus throughout the development of the device.

Due to originally being designed for integration with the Arturia Beatstep the device has always been set as an 8 channel device, providing 2 dials and 2 buttons per channel strip. The function of the first set of dials has consistently been a control over the pattern,  altering the rate of how often the sample is triggered. The secondary dials parameter needed to ensure that variation was induced upon the patterns, aiming to add complexity to the rhythms.

The original design which was based upon the Arturia Beatstep, and was designed with the pads offering visual feedback and a mute button. The focus upon the hardware integration moved away from the Arturia Beatstep in particular to a more general integration. This led to the function of the first set of buttons to being utilised for adding variations, as opposed to just providing visual aid.

Final Device Design - May 2018

The first toggle allows variations in the patterns to be explored, with 4 different options per pattern. The second buttons are on and off switches, allowing the user to quickly mute channels on the go. The final design utilised colours in order to cause clear separation and a better ease of use. The labelling system has been simplified, with the directive words being only featured on the first channel, as opposed to repeated on every channel.
