Sequencer

This video shows the overall sequencer patcher. The patch is for one channel of the overall sequencer, and will be duplicated 8 times to create the whole sequencer. It can be seen how the sequencer responds to the Ableton transport. The different patterns can be selected using the drop down menu, which will be altered to a dial. Different patterns can be selected using the variations toggle, providing slight adjustments to the patterns. The top flash represents the rhythm of the pattern, the pattern selector allows the selection of different patterns, the switches below toggle the different patterns, the probability dial is explained in the next video, and the final toggle is the outputted pattern.

The sequencer channel is a subpatch within the overall device patch, for each channel there are 6 connections that are made providing an input for the transport sync, variation toggle, pattern dial, probability dial, on/off button toggle, as well as an output that directs the 'bang' to the desired destination. The sequencer channel is duplicated 8 times to create the complete sequencer with each channel having a different output destination. Every channel has its own midi number ranging from 36-43, these 8 numbers trigger 8 sample loaders in Drum Rack from note C1-G1.

Probability Device

To further add variation to the patterns created by the sequencer there is a probability device. In the video the flashing button on the left is the full pattern, and the right flash is the outputted trigger. The probability dial at 100% means that the bang is 100% determined to flash, as it goes down the probability of the flash reduces. The probability is a random device and this will add to the complexity and individuality of the patterns. Below is the patching for the device.
